GOOD QUESTIONS

Before you head out.

What does HayMate monitor?

Mini monitors temperature and humidity. Medium adds rainfall. Max adds rainfall and wind. All three provide app graphs and humidity alarms with phone calls and text messages.

What are the ongoing costs?

Your equipment price includes the first year of data and app use. From year two, annual renewal is $200 for Mini or $475 for Medium and Max. Renewal prices include GST.

Can it alert the rest of my hay team?

Yes. Add your team as users in the Hay Mate app and select who should receive the alarm. HayMate calls and texts the selected users when your humidity threshold is reached.

How current are the readings?

HayMate takes sensor readings every 5 minutes and sends updates to the cloud and app every 10 minutes.

What coverage do I need?

The current HayMate uses the Telstra 4G/4GX network. You’ll need suitable coverage where you place the unit.

Does it measure moisture inside the hay?

HayMate monitors the air conditions in your paddock; it does not measure moisture inside a bale. Humidity is a leading indicator to help you time your next hay check. Use the readings alongside your own crop checks and baling judgement.
